Youth to honor living legends

Youth Pride Center will honor local activists that have contributed to the community at its second annual Living Legends Black History Gala.

On Feb. 28, at 7 p.m., youth will honor U.S. Rep. Danny Davis; Vernita Gray; Renae Ogletree; Father Juan Reed; Rails Marketing Group; Rocks Coordinating Committee; Pastor Phyllis V. Penesse; CC Carter and Gregory Norels at Lake View Lutheran Church, 835 W. Addison. The evening will also feature African drummers and dancers. Guests are encouraged to wear African-inspired clothing.
